| My old desktop was starting to show its age, especially when processing images as compared to my I3 based iMac. So I had been watching the prices on I7 based machines but it wasn't until a really nice sale on the parts at Microcenter than I decided to build a new system. Image processing that took 30 mins on the old desktop now takes less than 5 mins. This also allowed me to upgrade the old server by replacing it with the previous desktop, giving me more space and speed there too. |
